Venice

We left Tuscany on Saturday morning, we have already written up our last couple of days but it is saved on the memory stick ready to download into the blog and I don't have it with me so that will have to wait.

We drove to Venice on Saturday morning - it took about three and a half hours. We have parked the car in a parking building at the edge of Venice and from there we took one of the public boats (five euros each) to our hotel. Our hotel is right on the Grand Canal - we have two double bedrooms and they did say they would be small and they certainly are narrow. Our double bed is right against the wall and we have a foot maximum between the double bed and the wall. We do have an ensuite bathroom and small table and chairs - the room is long and narrow. The best thing is that we have double opening doors right on to the Grand Canal so we can enjoy all the activity of the area. We are more than delighted with our position.

We will write up more of our adventures but we are all loving our time here. It rained yesterday whilst we were travelling and light rain all afternoon. However today has been fine all day although temperatures a little lower and have needed jackets most of the day. Venice has a wonderful atmosphere.

Today is Sharryn and Garey's wedding anniversary so out for dinner tonight to celebrate their 29 years. Saying that we have hardly missed a night that we haven't been to a restaurant for dinner. Last night was no exception and we had a great meal at a restaurant recommended by our hotel and then we walked for about an hour or wo, to help digest the dinner, and experience Venice. We are now far from the Rialto Bridge so we walked to there and back again last night following all the little lane ways.

More to come soon - again sorry no photos but we are unable to save them on the memory stick and get them to post.
